For An Even Better Bethany!
Linda has lived in Bethany for 17 years with her husband, John, and her son Nicholas. She brings the following professional skills: problem solving, time management, customer service, and communication skills.
She enjoys spending time on their hobby farm. They were drawn to Bethany for the rural country atmosphere, excellent school system, and small-town sense of community.
Since being elected as Tax Collector she has successfully passed the State Statutes and Tax Law Exam for CCMC Course 1. She is currently enrolled in Couse 2 which focuses on Collection
Enforcement, and she plans to complete all courses by fall 2025.
Since being elected, I have taken the initiative to visit various tax offices and engage with other
tax collectors across the state to examine their procedures. This has allowed me to identify areas
for improvement in my department and to implement practices that comply with state statutes
and audit requirements.
I have also established an Office Policy and Procedures manual, highlighted the necessity for an
ordinance that was voted on and passed by the town for compliance with state statutes, initiated a
transition from Tax Sales to Foreclosures which aims to reduce the town's liability and
restructured billing procedures to reduce expenses to the town. My goal is to keep the department
running as efficiently as possible and offer seamless assistance to taxpayers by reorganization
and education.
